Invisalign for adults · discreet, professional, effective
Straighten your smile without anyone knowing
Clear aligners that move teeth quietly — and come out for meetings, presentations, and dinner with clients.
Common adult concerns we treat
- Relapse from old braces — teeth that drifted back over the years after the retainer was lost.
- Crowding on the lower front teeth as the jaw shifts subtly with age.
- Small gaps between front teeth that have widened over time.
- Crossbite or open bite that causes uneven wear or jaw fatigue.
- A smile you’ve always wanted to improve but never had time for braces.
- Pre-restorative alignment — straightening teeth before veneers, crowns, or bridges so the final result is balanced.
What makes adult Invisalign different
Adults have fully developed jaws, established habits, and often more wear and tear on the teeth than teens. That means planning has to account for things like crown margins, existing restorations, bite forces from grinding, and the way the gums sit around restored teeth. We coordinate every Invisalign case with the rest of your dental plan — so the alignment supports your long-term restorative and cosmetic goals, not just the cosmetic moment.
Fitting it into a busy life
- Check-ins every 6–8 weeks — most run 20 minutes and fit into a lunch break.
- Aligners come out for meetings, presentations, networking events, and meals. Back in for the rest of the day and overnight.
- No food restrictions: eat what you want with the aligners out, brush, and put them back in.
- Travel-friendly. Bring the case and the next 2–3 sets of aligners; you can change them on schedule wherever you are.
Common questions
Frequently asked
- Am I too old for Invisalign?
- No. Adults of any age can use Invisalign as long as the teeth, gums, and bone are healthy. We’ve treated patients in their 60s and 70s who are thrilled with the result. Age alone is never the limiting factor.
- Will it interfere with work meetings?
- Not really. Aligners are clear and most colleagues won’t notice unless they’re looking for them. You can take them out for a meeting if you want maximum discretion — just put them back in after.
- How long does treatment take for an adult?
- Most adult cases run 6–18 months. Mild relapse from old orthodontics is often done in 6 months. Moderate crowding or alignment takes 9–12 months. Complex cases can take 18–24 months.
- Can Invisalign fix my old orthodontic relapse?
- Yes. Relapse — when teeth drift back toward their old position after retainers stop being worn — is one of the most common adult Invisalign cases. Usually a much shorter treatment than the original braces took.
- Will it affect my speech?
- Some patients have a slight lisp for the first day or two. It almost always resolves within a week as your tongue adapts. Reading out loud for 15 minutes at home speeds the adjustment up.
- Does insurance cover it?
- Many adult dental plans cover Invisalign at the same rate as traditional braces (often 50% up to a lifetime orthodontic max — usually $1,000–$2,500). We verify your coverage before quoting a cost.
