Anxiety-friendly care

If the dentist's office makes you nervous

You're not the only one, and you don't have to white-knuckle it. Tell us, and we'll change how the whole visit feels.

Anxiety-friendly care

Roughly one in three adults skips the dentist because of anxiety. Our team is trained to handle that gently. When you tell us you're nervous, we slow down. We narrate every step. We give you a clear hand-raise signal you can use any time to pause. And we don't push treatment forward until you say you're ready.

We take the time

A lot of dental anxiety comes from feeling rushed and out of control. So we do the opposite. For nervous patients we book extra time, keep the room calm and quiet, and check in with you before every step. There's no clock pressure and no surprise, you always know what's happening next and you can pause whenever you need to.

Gentle, thorough numbing

Before any treatment, we make sure the area is fully numb. We start with a topical numbing gel, deliver the local anesthetic slowly with the smallest needle that does the job, and wait until you're completely comfortable before we begin. If you ever feel something you shouldn't, you tell us and we stop.

Small touches

  • Headphones and music of your choice during longer procedures
  • A weighted blanket if it helps you settle
  • The smallest-gauge needle and topical numbing before any injection
  • A clear, agreed-upon stop signal, you raise your hand, we stop
  • Honest answers to "what are you doing right now" any time you ask

Common questions

Frequently asked

I have dental anxiety. What should I tell you?
Tell us at booking, tell us at check-in, and tell us when you sit down. Even just a heads-up changes how we pace the visit, slower introductions, more breaks, no surprise sounds, and a clear stop signal you can use any time.
What do you do to make anxious patients comfortable?
We schedule extra time so nothing feels rushed, narrate every step before we do it, take breaks whenever you need one, and stop the moment you raise your hand. No judgment, no upcharge, just a slower, calmer pace built around you.
Will the shot hurt?
We use topical anesthetic to numb the area first, deliver the injection slowly, and use the smallest gauge needle that does the job. Most patients describe it as a brief pinch, not pain. We make sure you are completely numb before we begin any treatment.
What if I need to stop partway through?
You set the pace. We agree on a clear stop signal before we start, usually raising your hand, and the moment you use it, we stop. You are always in control of the appointment.
Can you help nervous kids?
Yes. We keep the pace gentle, explain everything in kid-friendly language, let them see and touch the instruments first, and never rush. Building trust early is how kids grow into adults who do not dread the dentist.
What if I'm a returning patient who has just become anxious?
Dental anxiety can develop at any age, a bad experience elsewhere, a new medical situation, or just life stress. Tell us. We'll adjust how we run your visit, no judgment, no upcharge.
