Cosmetic bonding · same-day fixes

Small fixes, same day, big-impact smile

A tooth-colored composite shaped onto a chip, a gap, or a rough edge — and polished until it disappears into your natural smile.

What bonding can do

  • Repair a chipped or fractured tooth.
  • Close a small gap without orthodontics or veneers.
  • Cover a discolored spot that whitening can't lift.
  • Reshape a slightly uneven tooth — lengthening, rounding a sharp edge, or evening the smile line.
  • Protect an exposed root where the gum has receded.

How it works

  1. Shade match. We choose a composite shade that matches the surrounding tooth.
  2. Shape. The tooth is lightly etched so the composite bonds, then the resin is applied and shaped freehand.
  3. Cure. A blue curing light hardens the composite in seconds.
  4. Polish. Final shaping and polishing blends the new surface into your natural tooth.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What is dental bonding?
A tooth-colored composite resin shaped onto your tooth, then hardened with a light. It can fill a chip, close a small gap, smooth a rough edge, or cover a discolored spot.
Does it require drilling?
Usually not. For most small cosmetic fixes, no anesthesia is needed and very little (sometimes none) of your natural tooth is altered.
How long does it last?
Most bonding lasts 5–10 years. It's softer than porcelain veneers and can stain or chip over time, but it's also easy to refresh when needed.
Is it visible?
Not if it's done well. We match the composite to your tooth's exact shade and polish it so it blends in. From a normal conversational distance, no one will notice.
How many visits does it take?
Usually one — most bonding cases are completed in a single 30–60 minute appointment.
Will my insurance cover it?
When bonding repairs damage (chips, fractures, decay), most insurance covers a portion. Purely cosmetic bonding is usually out of pocket. We'll verify your benefits before scheduling.
